There's good tuna fishing south of Block Island, summer-resident bass and bluefish take large topwater plugs, and there is surprisingly good fluke fishing close to home.
Big keeper fluke are biting more consistently and trophy stripers congregate around Block Island, while bigeye, yellowfin and bluefin tuna are all on the offshore menu.
Big stripers eat eels, bunker and topwater plugs in shallow, bluefish remain in the deep rips of the Sound, and fluke fishing has been on and off in 30-foot depths.
